WEARABLE ART BEGINNS WITH WEARING

RESPCT.ME GALLERY IS A PLACE FOR ENCOUNTER

LOOKING, TRYING ON, SENSING, REFLECTING UPON -

ON THE BODY AND IN THE MIRROR

Wearable artwork unfolds on the body - in movement, friction, closeness.

Yet it also holds it own.

art jewellery on display and wearable art on body

This gallery is dedicated to wearable art at the threshold of art, body, and use. Run by practicing artists, the gallery shows both, their own practice and that of invited guests.
The works shown are not designed to decorate the body, but to activate it.

Handmade one-offs and small series exist fully only in relation to the body.
Materials carry memory. Upcycling is not a statement of sustainability, but a method of displacement—shifting context, value, and meaning.

Situated between art jewelry, textile practices, and conceptual fashion, the body is not a neutral support, but part of the work itself.

The gallery addresses those who understand wearing as a cultural act and aesthetic position—beyond trend, beyond function.
Wearable art appears here as what it is: autonomous, physical, and collectable!

Our workshops extend the gallery into practice.
They are spaces for material exploration, experimentation, and embodied thinking.

Participants work with found, reused, and unconventional materials, exploring their qualities, limits, and behaviour in relation to the body. They work with professional tools within the gallery´s own artist studio.

The workshops are accompanied by artists, who offer guidance, technical input, and conceptual impulses throughout the process, while leaving room for individual approach and decisions.

Each workshop results in a self-made wearable artwork, emerging from individual exploration rather than predefined outcomes.
No prior expertise is required, only curiosity and a willingness to engage with materials and the body.
